  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • On call
  • Weekends as needed

About the Position

MST Tutoring, LLC is seeking a caring and dedicated Elementary School Tutor to support K–6 (up to 8th grade is a plus, but not required) students in foundational academic subjects. This position focuses on building core competencies in reading, writing, language arts, and elementary math, while nurturing confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of child development, uses creative and adaptive strategies, and thrives in a 1-on-1 or small group setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, age-appropriate instruction in:
    • Elementary Reading & Writing
    • Foundational Math Skills (up to Algebra I/Geometry is preferred, but not required)
    • Language Arts (spelling, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure)
  • Adapt lesson plans to meet each student’s individual learning needs and goals
  • Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents and the MST team
  • Reinforce executive functioning skills such as organization, focus, and time management
  • Foster a warm, supportive, and structured learning environment
  • Help students build confidence and develop a positive relationship with learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • Prior tutoring or classroom teaching experience
  • Teaching certification (K–6 or equivalent) a plus but not required
  • Comfortable working with students in grades K–6 (up to 8th grade is a plus)
  • Minimum availability of 3 days/week (weekday afternoons and/or weekends)
