About the Position

Are you passionate about language, literacy, and helping students excel on standardized tests? MST Tutoring, LLC is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Reading, Writing, and Language Tutor to join our team. This role focuses specifically on preparing students for the Reading, Writing & Language sections of the ACT and SAT, as well as reading comprehension and grammar for High School Entrance Exams (including the HSPT, SSAT, and ISEE).

We specialize in creating individualized learning programs tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. Our sessions are delivered both one-on-one and in small group settings.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in:
    • SAT/ACT Reading and Writing & Language sections
    • Reading comprehension and grammar fundamentals for HS Entrance Exams
    • Customize lesson plans to meet individual student goals and testing timelines
    • Help students build skills in vocabulary, critical reading, grammar, and writing mechanics
    • Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents and the MST team
    • Foster a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging learning environment

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking candidates who are:

  • Passionate about literacy and academic achievement
  • Experienced with standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, and/or HS Entrance Exams)
  • Strong communicators with excellent writing and grammar skills
  • Organized, punctual, and dependable
  • Able to adapt instruction to a variety of learning styles
  • Team players who are collaborative and coachable
  • College graduates with demonstrated academic strength in English/Language Arts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communications, or related field
  • Prior tutoring or classroom teaching experience
  • Teaching certification a plus but not required
  • Minimum availability of 3 days/week (including Sundays and weekday afternoons/evenings)
  • Comfortable working with middle and high school students
