Essay Writing: A foundational course

  • 1-on-1 tutoring: With the help of personalized tutoring, our tutors can help refine a student’s essay writing skills. The 1-1 option of this course is more focused and can be geared toward a specific class. The essay writing session includes but is not limited to persuasive topics, book reports, analysis, and in-depth essay writing. Additionally, this individualized option allows for any age range. 
  • Small group tutoring (up to 5 students): This course is for students who want to become stronger essay writers. This course will focus on the structure of different essays, including but not limited to: persuasive, narrative, expository, and descriptive.

College Essay Writing

  • 1-on-1 tutoring: With the 1-1 option of this course, a student can cater to the specific schools of their choice regarding admission essay criteria. This will be present in the group course, but there will be more time to narrow the essay’s focus regarding the individual requirements of various admissions essays. 
  • Small group tutoring (up to 5 students): This course is designed to alleviate any added stress of an already intimidating application process. This course will begin with a brainstorming session to choose a topic and develop it into a focused and competitive admissions essay.

Reading Comprehension

  • 1-on-1 tutoring: With the 1-1 option of this course, the student can focus on comprehension and any personal problem areas. The sessions will provide guidance on how to prevent picking incorrect answer choices along with those considered to be “trap doors.”. Students will establish careful reading skills as troubling passages arise.  
  • Small group tutoring (up to 5 students): This course will help students become more cognizant readers. Each session will include a reading passage, and the students will learn how to extract meaningful bits of information. The purpose of this is for the students to learn how to read carefully, which will help them choose answers in the multiple-choice section.
